Many RVers do, especially when the new battery drops into the same Group 24 or Group 31 box. Turn off shore power, solar and the battery disconnect first. Connect with ring terminals on the M8 terminals and tighten them to 10 ft-lb. Then check that your converter, solar controller and any DC-to-DC charger are set for lithium (see question 41). If you’re not comfortable with 12V wiring, have your RV service center do it, or call our Support Team at 855-MAX-LITH before you start.

An adjustable mounting strap comes in the box, and the battery has a removable mounting plate. For bigger trees or posts, add the 48" Nylon Strap (Item #1124).

The simplest way is one 36V battery, which needs no series wiring. If you’re wiring three 12V batteries in series, Millertech allows up to four in a string. Watch the “Series & Parallel Battery Connections 101” video. Torque terminals to 10 ft-lb.

The maximum number of batteries that can be connected is four, whether in a series or parallel configuration.

Add up the watts of everything you’d run at the same time, then choose an inverter rated above that total with room to spare for appliances that surge when they start. Use a pure sine wave inverter for electronics. Millertech carries Edison pure sine wave inverter/chargers with a built-in solar charge controller for 24V and 48V systems.
