How Many Photos Will I Get on One Charge?

About 30,000 trail camera photos with the Max 8.0 and about 15,000 with the Max 4.0. Your count will vary with camera model, settings and temperature.

How Many Times Can I Recharge The Millertech Max 8.0 and 4.0 Auxiliary Battery?

More than 2,000 times. Recharge it every few months for your trail camera and it’ll be around for a lot of hunting seasons. It has a Millertech 5 year No Hassle warranty!

Why Does My RV Panel Say My Lithium Battery Is Only Partly Charged?

Most factory RV panels guess your charge from voltage, and they’re set up for lead-acid. A lithium battery holds a steady voltage almost all the way down, so those panels often read wrong. Trust the Millertech app instead: it reads remaining capacity straight from the battery’s Battery Management System (BMS). If the app also shows the battery isn’t reaching full, your converter may be using a lead-acid charging profile

Why Won’t My Lithium Battery Charge?

Check these four things first:
• Cold: a standard lithium battery won’t take a charge below freezing, to protect the cells. Warm it up or use a heated battery.
• Charger profile: a lead-acid setting may stop short of a full charge.
• Sleep mode: if the battery ran all the way down, the BMS puts it to sleep. Wake it with a lithium charger, a jump pack or another battery that’s at least 50% charged.
• Connections: loose or corroded terminals block charging. Use ring terminals, snug and clean.

Are Lithium Batteries Worth the Money for an RV?

Yes, once you look at cost over the life of the battery and not just the price tag. How many cycles a Millertech LiFePO4 battery gives you depends on how deeply you drain it each time: up to 10,000 cycles at 30% depth of discharge (DoD), 7,000 at 50% and 5,000 at 80%. An AGM battery gets 600 to 800. Add a 10-year Sport Series warranty, and lithium costs less per trip than replacing lead-acid batteries every few seasons.

Can I Install a Lithium Battery in My RV Myself?

Many RVers do, especially when the new battery drops into the same Group 24 or Group 31 box. Turn off shore power, solar and the battery disconnect first. Connect with ring terminals on the M8 terminals and tighten them to 10 ft-lb. Then check that your converter, solar controller and any DC-to-DC charger are set for lithium (see question 41). If you’re not comfortable with 12V wiring, have your RV service center do it, or call our Support Team at 855-MAX-LITH before you start.

Can I jump start a lithium battery?

Yes, you can jump start a lithium battery. Use either another battery that is charged at least 50% or an approved lithium jump starter pack. We recommend jump pack for reliability.

Can I Leave My Solar Connected While My RV Is in Storage?

Yes. A solar panel can stay connected to keep your Millertech battery topped off while your RV is parked. Set your solar charge controller to its lithium setting, or use a user-programmable setting set up for lithium. Turn off or disconnect everything else, so detectors and other small loads can't slowly drain the battery. Not sure how to set your controller? Call our Support Team at 855-MAX-LITH.

Can I ship my order to a PO Box?

We can ship accessories like headlamps and chargers to PO boxes; however, batteries cannot be shipped to PO boxes.

Can I Use a Millertech Auxiliary Battery as a Power Bank for Camping, Fishing and Hunting Camp?

Yes! That’s what the USB hub is for. One battery runs your trail camera during the season, then slides into the hub and goes along to the campsite, the boat, the deer blind or the ice shanty. Everybody’s phones, the tablet for the kids, headlamps and the laptop stay charged without a generator or a running truck. https://millertechenergy.com/product/slide-on-usb-charging-port-for-1128-trail-camera-battery-1128-usb/

Can I Use Lithium Batteries for Winter and Early-Spring Fishing?

Yes. Millertech batteries perform “extremely well in cold conditions during discharge.” Sport Series batteries are rated to run from -4°F to 140°F. The limit is charging in the cold, not fishing in it (see question 25). Greg Hackney ran his while breaking ice: “nothing but raw power, the same as if it was 90° every day.”

Can Lithium Help With Generator Quiet Hours?

Yes. Your batteries run lights, fans, the furnace blower and the fridge’s controls silently all night, so the generator can stay off through quiet hours. When you do run it, lithium takes a charge quickly, so runs can be shorter. Add solar and some campers skip the generator altogether.
